Crawl Space & Basement Dehumidifiers
A crawl space dehumidifier pulls moisture out of the air under your home and helps keep humidity under control year-round. Wetlock installs AprilAire dehumidifiers for crawl spaces and basements, usually alongside a vapor barrier or encapsulation.

Moisture and humidity control
Water is not the only problem under a house. In the Carolinas, humid air does just as much damage. It condenses on cool joists and ductwork, feeds fungus growth and carries musty air into your living space.

- Sized to your space during the free inspection.
- Paired with sealing: works best with a vapor barrier or encapsulation.
Included with every Wetlock crawl space system
Every Wetlock crawl space system, from the Starter System to Full Encapsulation, includes an AprilAire dehumidifier. Sealing the space and actively managing humidity work together. Compare the three systems.
Humidity control, not water control
A dehumidifier removes moisture from the air. It does not remove water that flows in after rain. Where water is entering, it needs a drain and sump pump as well. The water a dehumidifier collects also has to drain somewhere, so we plan that route as part of the installation.
Why humidity matters
Fungus growth needs moisture. Keeping humidity under control helps protect your floor framing, helps keep insulation dry and can reduce musty odors in your home.
Signs you may need dehumidifiers

Dehumidifiers FAQ
Why do I need a dehumidifier if my crawl space is sealed?
Sealing keeps new moisture out, but humidity can still build up, especially in the humid Carolina summers. A dehumidifier helps hold humidity at levels that discourage fungal growth.
